AVB worked closely with Borgess Health, now Beacon Kalamazoo, and Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine to build a state-of-the-art simulation center at Beacon Kalamazoo that mimics the simulation center found on WMED’s main campus. AVB completed this project on time and on budget.

The Simulation Center at Beacon Kalamazoo features classrooms, office space, and a procedure room, as well as advanced equipment and high-fidelity manikins. The facility offers state-of-the-art hands-on learning in primary and specialty care. At this facility, learners have the opportunity to participate in patient care simulations and practice decision-making and communication skills in a simulated hospital room and procedural lab environment. The simulation center is available to medical students, resident physicians, pre-hospital care providers, physicians, and healthcare practitioners, with instruction provided by educators from the medical school and Beacon Kalamazoo.
